When was the last time that you had a migraine did you say to yourself, “You know self, we really need to pay more attention to our liver”? I think it is probably safe to say for most out there, it was NEVER. What about when your acid reflux is just out of control or it has become clear your digestive tract is a mess? Do you think about your liver as you fight the Battle of the Bulge? What about that chronic feeling of fatigue and just general overall not feeling good? Would you like to know how a toxic liver will impact your health.
I’ve said it before and I will say it again, our body is A-mazing! It is programmed to heal itself. It knows better what to do than anyone. It can however, become overwhelmed by stress, a poor diet, toxins, excess calories, not enough sleep and many other imbalances.
Our intestines also known as “the gut” is where our immunity begins. It is our first line of defense. If the gut is unhealthy then everything else in your body will be too. That is a basic truth.
The gut and the liver, along with your adrenals should work in perfect harmony. When whole food is consumed, a perfect chain of events begins to happen. This harmonious sequence will determine what hormones are released by your adrenals and how you liver will begin to detoxify.
A healthy gut can even impact your happiness. It is in the intestines that up to 90% of our serotonin is produced. Serotonin has often been called the “happiness hormone”. So having your gut out of whack can really affect your mood.
The liver gets much of its direction from the adrenals. As an example, when you experience a stressful situation, another biochemical reaction is set in motion. In these situations, the body sees that it needs fuel at the ready in the form of glucose or sugar. The adrenals then instruct that the sugar be broken down into a simpler sugar, glycogen which in turn raises the blood sugar. At that very same time the gut is told to stop digesting because energy can not be wasted there. What is important to your body now is to deal with the stressors at hand. It is called the “fight or flight” reflex.
You can probably imagine what an impact this will have if you are under chronic stress. Stress doesn’t always have to mean a stressful situation or life event. Stress can come in the form of a chronic illness your body is battling. Stress can come from a constant barrage of toxins that may come from the food we eat, the air we breathe or even products we use in our homes and on ourselves.
Your liver is your major detoxifying organ, but it also will be diverted from its detoxifying tasks if it has something more urgent to attend too. If your liver is unavailable or overwhelmed with toxins, your body will store the toxins in your fat cells.
Hmmm, has losing weight ever been a problem for you? Our body is much smarter than our logic is and if we try to lose those fat cells while they are still full of toxins our body knows that it would experience a release of toxins that would prove to be overwhelming.
Bottom line is, loosing weight and keeping it off will be impossible if your fat cells are harboring toxins that your liver has not had a chance to deal with. So, the goal is to get your liver functioning properly and to get the detox pathways free and clear to move the toxins out of the body as quickly as possible. Removing the over abundance in toxins will help your body be able to manage its own healthcare much more proficiently.
That is why I so strongly recommend a serious liver detox. First of all it will mobilize those toxins being stored in your fat cells so that they can be moved out. Second, it will clean up the gut so that toxins and debris can be moved out in an expedited fashion. Third, your body will begin to repair the leaky gut, because you will be eating a very healthy diet for the 30 days. It is believed that approx 70% of us have a Candida overgrowth in our gut. The havoc that can come from just an overgrowth of Candida alone…..well that is a whole other post.
So now you know, your health and wellness begins on the inside. There is so much power in food. If you would like to know more how we can help you improve your health schedule your free consultation now.
